The project proposal provides for the introduction of energy efficiency measures in the building “Yuriy Gagarin” — Malko Tarnovo, located in the town of Malko Tarnovo. The planned activities include the introduction of the energy audits prescribed by the consultant, energy saving measures and the implementation of the technical passport guidelines and recommendations in order to reach at least the energy consumption class “C” in the building. Better performance of the building in the scope of intervention will significantly reduce the operational costs of the building and contribute to the extension of its life cycle. The project aims at implementing the following thematic objectives under the General Regulation 1303/2013: Thematic objective 4 ‘Supporting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors’. The interventions under the project proposal will contribute to the achievement of the indicative national energy saving targets for 2020 under the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan 2014-2020. The support aims to adequately address the problems related to increased migration to major and medium-sized cities, better quality of life and modernisation of public infrastructure in the town of Malko Tarnovo, as well as to stimulate urban-rural connections. Energy renovation activities will prolong the life of the building, reduce maintenance costs and help reduce greenhouse gases, stimulate people to stay in small settlements by improving public infrastructure.
