The project “Integrated Urban Transport of the town of Pernik” (IGT) is set out in the Municipal Development Plan; Integrated Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of Pernik, Investment Programme of Pernik Municipality 2014-2020. The introduction of LGT aims to improve the living and environmental conditions of the city, to create more efficient, fast and environmentally friendly urban transport with less energy consumption, to reduce the negative impact on the environment by maintaining an urban transport system of environmentally friendly vehicles. The main problems are physical and obsolete transport fleet; irregular urban transport and lack of alternative transport; bringing service contracts into line with the requirements of European standards — EU Regulation 1370/2007; Transport management centre; environmental problems for the town of Pernik. Implementation of the project activities will meet the needs of the target groups — population of Pernik — 77135 at the current address; as at 15.06.16 (GRAO); tourists and guests of Pernik; companies and organisations operating on the territory of Pernik.The expected results are: Introduction of a system for the control of TBTs; Electronic information boards at the stops — 70; Electronic charging system; Supply of new rolling stock — 13 buses of compressed natural gas complying with the European regulations on harmful emissions from engines and use of alternative energy sources and construction of a gas charging station and other activities.
