The project is part of the Investment Programme for the implementation of the Integrated Plan for Urban Reconstruction and Development of Petrich Municipality 2014-2020. One of its main objectives is to ensure access to quality education through investment in municipal educational infrastructure. The project complies with PRIORITY 1.4. of the IHLG, namely: Investing in education, skills and lifelong learning through the development of educational and training infrastructure. It is crucial for the city of Petrich to invest in the quality, competitiveness and efficiency of education, which depends to a large extent on the conditions for teaching — i.e. on the relevant infrastructure. It is necessary to develop educational (schools and kindergartens) infrastructure due to its direct link with economic development. The town of Petrich has an extremely favorable demographic situation compared to other cities in the country. This strength must be used, preserved and developed. Educational infrastructure is important for better matching educational choices with labour market needs and easier integration of young people into the labour market, preventing social problems that are costly to society and learning basic working habits. The implementation of the project will lead to the achievement of another specific objective: reducing the number of early school dropouts through investments in the educational infrastructure of the town of Petrich. Activities for energy efficiency, improvement of facilities related to the creation of attractive educational environments in schools in impact areas are envisaged. Taking measures to enable the whole day-to-day organisation of the learning process by improving the infrastructure, places for sport and recreation and interest activities.
