(A) The project will make a significant contribution to improving the conditions for early childhood care as well as educational services in the city of Plovdiv. The capacity of educational infrastructure in the city will be optimised, including through the construction of a new kindergarten. The overall renovation of the sites will lead to a better education environment and more sports opportunities for children and pupils. The implementation of energy efficiency measures will respond to the need to reduce energy and resource costs — in line with environmental protection priorities and sound financial management of public institutions. The location of most sites in an area with ethnic diversity will facilitate access to education for Roma children and subsequently support their social and economic integration.(B) Target groups The project groups include children under three years of age; children of preschool age; children of school age; ungraded children and pupils of Roma background; children and students with physical disabilities; staff of the renovated sites.(C) Expected results(1) Renovated and reconstructed building stock with implemented energy efficiency measures, well-built yard of Lyuben Karavelov Secondary School — Building 1;(2) Renovated and refurbished building stock with implemented energy efficiency measures, well-built yard of Snezhanka CSD; (3) Renovated and reconstructed building stock with implemented energy efficiency measures, well-developed yard of children’s laughter;(4) Renovated and refurbished building stock with implemented energy efficiency measures, well-built yard of secondary school Lyuben Karavelov — building 2;(5) Renovated and refurbished building stock with implemented energy efficiency measures, well-built yard of PSC Perunika;(6) New kindergarten built on Bogomil Street.
