With the present project under Procedure BG05M9OP001-2.019 "Continuing support for deinstitutionalisation of children and young people" — ETAP 2 — provision of social and integrated health and social services for children and families" — Component 1, OPHRD 2014-2020, Plovdiv Municipality will continue the overall process of deinstitutionalisation of the care of children placed in homes for children deprived of parental care and the final phased closure of these institutions by ensuring the opening of 7 new social services in the community: 4 services of the resident type — 2 Center for Family-type Accommodation, Observed Housing, Transitional Housing, as well as 3 Advisory Services — “Public Support Centre”, “Day Centre for Children and/or Youth with Disabilities” and “Day Centre for Children and/or Youth with Deep Multiple Disabled”. For the functioning of the 7 new social services on the territory of the Municipality of Plovdiv, specialised staff of 65 people (psychologists, sociologists, etc.) will be appointed, who will be responsible for providing them fully and ensuring appropriate care and comfort to the users in view of their individual needs, including by providing for their daily personal and hygienic needs. The Synergistic Activities Complex within the project will support the implementation of measures for: community-based support for children placed in homes for children deprived of parental care and children from these homes leaving the care system; health/integrated health-social services for children with disabilities; the implementation of the project will contribute to ensuring the right of children to a family environment and access to quality care and services according to their individual needs, supporting the achievement of the main objective of the National Strategy “Vision for the Deinstitutionalisation of Children in the Republic of Bulgaria” and will complement and build on the measures implemented in the field financed under OPHRD 2007-2013 and OPRD 2014-2020.
