Chance of an equal life

“Chance for Equivalent Life” is a project proposal for providing innovative forms of social services in the community, aimed at the target group of people with special needs. Activities aimed at a decentralised model for the provision of services in a family environment are envisaged. A unit for hourly social services will be opened in the town of Radomir. Personal assistants will be appointed to work there, who will carry out direct care, 1 working therapist and 1 person — coordinator/dispatcher. Through the implementation of this service, the Municipality of Radomir aims to upgrade the services provided so far, aimed at the users — persons with disabilities and elderly people, within the framework of its previous project “Care for independent living in Radomir Municipality”, implemented under the scheme “Independent Life”, with the financial support of the HRD OP, co-financed by the European Social Fund of the EU. Through its new project, the Municipality continues the search for new forms of service to people with disabilities, based on the experience already gained and the observations from previous projects on the real needs of persons with disabilities and their families. The hourly social services unit will give people with disabilities, as well as the relatives of persons with disabilities, who have to constantly take care of them, a chance to receive support in carrying out these activities in everyday life, including those related to employment. It will be an innovation and at the same time an addition to the social services offered so far in the community and will contribute to the removal of restrictions hampering the full social inclusion of persons with disabilities. The project proposal is fully in line with the specific objective 2.2. “Reducing poverty and promoting social inclusion" of Strategic Objective 2 — "Human Resources Development: Increasing the economic activity of the population and ensuring quality employment and social inclusion" of the CSLLD.
