The main objective of this project is to close a landfill for household waste, Municipality of Rouen and achieve a high level of environmental protection and compliance with EU and national waste management directives. The project will eliminate the risks to the environment and human health arising from the movement and spread of pollution inside and outside the landfill site, prevent littering, help improve, preserve and restore the natural environment as well as the development of environmental infrastructure. The closure of the landfill for municipal waste will also contribute to improving the state of the soil and groundwater. This project is intended to carry out technical rehabilitation of the landfill site of the municipality of Ruen, and biological reclamation is subsequently envisaged. The area intended for reclamation has a broken structure and soil fertility as a result of the long-standing accumulation of waste. The recultivation of the landfill aims to limit as much as possible the adverse impact of the accumulated waste on the environment.
