The project “Integrated system for urban transport in the town of Ruse-2” was prepared in accordance with the requirements of OP “Regions in Growth” 2014-2020, inv. Priority 2 “Integrated urban transport”. The selection of the activities included in the project proposal was carried out on the basis of a detailed feasibility study, which, on the basis of the analyses carried out (on the current situation, on the demand for and supply of the CGT, on alternatives for modernisation and the legal and institutional framework) considered options. The chosen alternative includes the following components: K.1-Building a pedestrian connection-overpass between Rodina 3 and CharodeikaK.2-Reconstruction of Pridunaviski Blvd. and rehabilitation of 3-piece PassarelkiK.3-Building a pedestrian zone on Chiprovtsi str.4–Rehabilitation and reconstruction of Shipka Str. in the section from Chiprovtsi Str. to BulgariaK.5-Reconstruction and Rehabilitation on a pedestrian underpass at the MG Baba TonkaK.6 — Upgrading of the intelligent transport systemAll intervention sites are included in the ILUP of the town of Ruse. The project proposal builds on the project “Integrated system for urban transport of the town of Ruse” implemented with the financial support of OPRD 2007-2013. The chosen alternative includes interlinked actions that permanently improve the economic, social and environmental status of the town of Ruse. The individual components are chosen so that the overall impact of the project proposal exceeds the sum of the effects of its individual components, if implemented separately. The implementation of the project “ISGT of the town of Ruse-2” not only builds on what has been done so far, but also provides an opportunity to implement after the implementation of the above mentioned activities as a follow-up project Alternative 3 and/or Alternative 4 described in the PSP, as Alt.3 will continue the activities for the construction of the facilitated access to TBT, and Alt.4 will create conditions for maximum efficient use of the established infrastructure for LGT through the purchase of new trolleybuses.
