The project proposal aims at improving access to cultural life by modernising the cultural infrastructure in the town of Shumen. For the site of intervention — Summer Theatre — Shumen, the planned construction and installation works include rehabilitation and repair of existing buildings (scene and stands); on the real stage above them and the screen with the visor above the stage of both lighting towers. In the old seating area, a new stand has been developed (amphitheatral) where up to 900 visitors will fit in 5 sectors. In place of the old and completely compromised fence will be executed a new one along the same loop. In the north-east of the site will be built a sanitary-bit block for visitors. In the north-west part, an annex will be completed under construction, which will form the central entrance to the theater and two crates. Bathrooms and an auxiliary room for garden equipment will be built to the crates. A bookstore and a coffee shop will be created to the formed atrium and with an external entrance. At K-2.95, there will be two rooms with the possibility to merge. There will be 2 changing rooms with sanitary facilities. Existing theatre approaches will be restored by replacing flooring and steps. Existing landscaping will be maintained and the area of the flower bed will be restored on the northern butt. In the vicinity of the entrance, 5 parking spaces for disabled visitors, as well as 5 parking spaces located south-east of the property, will be separated from the entrance. The investment will completely renovate the iconic building of the Summer Theatre for the city of Shumen, improve the accessibility of people with disabilities, improve the appearance of the building and make the central part of the city more attractive; it will increase the number of cultural events in the city, increase the interest of contractors to use the premises in the building for rent. Overall, the implementation of the project will improve the conditions for access to cultural life in Shumen.
