The results show that the care equipment pool used in healthcare institutions, which is not affected by developments in the 2007-13 programming period, in particular patient beds and other amenities, is almost entirely old, highly amortised, defective and can be used with difficulty or only partially, or at extremely high repair and maintenance costs. There are few beds in institutions with the right quality and type of bedrock, which makes it common for patients to fall off the bed, causing accidents of all kinds, ranging from minor bruises to serious injuries. Some of the falls from the bed also have head trauma, in which case it is mandatory to carry out an imaging test, which is also a significant burden for both the patient and the hospital staff, since most of these accidents occur at night, when significantly fewer staff are employed in the institutions. Physical exertion associated with patient handling often causes chronic musculoskeletal complaints among nursing staff. Overall, all these factors increase the frequent burnout syndrome among healthcare professionals. Patient safety The realisation of the project provides real answers to all three of the most important risk factors for patient safety. The aim is to reduce the number of care complications during the hospital care phase, which can be measured mainly by statistical data on the occurrence of beds. Special attention should be paid to the fact that the use of modern care equipment in the hospitalisation phase of patient care also has an impact on the reduction of the number of patient accidents and the complications caused by long-term lack of movement. Improving patient comfort The modern care tools acquired during the development improve the comfort of the inpatient during the nursing period. The patient’s comfort in terms of healing is very important for the time spent in the hospital, i.e. the number of days of care. With the realisation of the development, the period of care is shortened thanks to the modern care equipment pool. The reduction in care time is an important factor in the financing of costs, which contributes to increasing the efficiency of health services. Reduction of hospital complications According to previously presented statistics, the number of hospital complications shows an increasing trend. This trend can be stopped and reversed by the new care equipment pool. The main concern in the care of inpatients, especially for elderly patients, is the development of bedside conditions and the development of hospital infections. It should be noted that the condition of the equipment acquired during the development allows for regular disinfection and thus contributes to reducing the number of infections. Improving patient safety Patient safety — according to previously presented statistics — is a significant area for improvement in inpatient care. The majority of patient accidents occur at the beginning of the nursing period and fall or fall from the bed is the most common form. As a result of the use of modern care tools, the number of patient accidents is expected to decrease. Modern bed gratings prevent falling from the bed, and height-adjustable beds provide safety to the beneficiaries when landing from the bed. Improving the comfort of the ward The comfortable, modern and hygienic ward creates a positive atmosphere and at the same time leads to the conclusion of the quality of the nursing work. The base of the hospital comfort is the uniform care equipment park. The provision of a proper hospital environment has a reassuring effect on the patients and promotes their positive thinking and healing. The taxidermetic infusion racks are also available for comfort. The height-adjustable hospital beds primarily serve the efficiency of care and, on the other hand, make it safe and comfortable to get out of the bed.
