IMPROVING ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION, CREATING A COMPLEX, SUSTAINABLE LEARNING SUPPORT ENVIRONMENT, INNOVATIVE RENEWAL OF EDUCATION AT ELTE SITES

The aim of this project is to make higher education as widely available as possible during the period in which the number of potential entrants to higher education is reduced due to demographic conditions, in line with the requirements set out in the tender notice. In order to achieve this goal, we plan to carry out complex developments both in the Central Hungary region and in the regions to be developed, bearing in mind the specific needs of the target groups. The activities of the project include interventions to increase direct participation in higher education, education innovation, activities contributing to the development of the training field for teaching teachers, as well as the development of an educational space in the Carpathian Basin, the development of higher education health education and territorial service extension, in which case the activities focus on students living in the regions to be developed. The project’s first aim in time is to implement a university-level research to identify the causes of student dropout, which can further contribute to the development of the Action Plan and the Impact Assessment Plan. Developing improvements to support students, further developing mentoring programmes, prevention measures that help them stay in higher education and increase the number of students attending part-time courses. The institution aims to ensure the widest possible availability of academic knowledge by developing open courses that represent the quality of ELTE in an ever-growing online educational environment. University-coordinated educational innovation, implemented by faculty in training which is considered primarily to be developed in their respective fields. The implementation of a complex MOOC curriculum development programme that enables the training of remote, disadvantaged and disabled people at ELTE and thus increasing their participation in higher education. In order to achieve the stated goal, we strive to create a complex, sustainable, digitally supported and accessible learning support environment in the region to be developed by ELTE (including the Márton Áron College Debrecen, Márton Áron College Szeged, Gothard Astrophysics Observatory and Multidisciplinary Research Centre, Szombathely). In this way, it promotes admission to university, creating the conditions for a true college to operate as fully as possible, reducing student drop-outs and staying in higher education, while ensuring equal opportunities for students living in the regions to be developed, as well as from cross-border areas. We support the renewal of the University’s new locations in Debrecen and Szeged in education technology, the development of tools for the creation of digital educational capacity, and the development and application of open courses on the established infrastructure that represent the quality of ELTE and its colleges in an increasingly expanding geographical and online educational environment. The aim of the project is to renew and standardise the methodology of digital education at university level, and to implement a complex OER curriculum development and digital education and learning support system building program, which includes several elements on each other. By doing so, we hope to facilitate the training of students from cross-border areas in ELTE and specialised colleges, who are remote, disadvantaged and disabled, and thus increase their participation in higher education. The implementation of university-coordinated educational innovation in the areas of college premises is also intrinsically linked to the above objective in the context of training which is considered to be primarily to be developed. Of A18/2016. Based on the new Training and Output Requirements according to the EMMI Decree, the project is also intended to develop and transform the training courses. Rationalising the ratio of theoretical and practical training elements, reviewing the curricula nets for all relevant sites is an important endeavour of the project. The project also aims to further develop programmes to support university-level admission, to strengthen early access, talent management and support for students from disadvantaged regions, both within and across borders. The implementation of the project involves the 8 faculties of ELTE, a college and other departments performing tasks related to education development and service provision, as well as public education institutions providing a significant field of practical participation in teacher training.
