As an internationally recognised higher education institution, in the midst of globalisation, technological revolution and socio-demographic change, the SZTE strives to (a) ensure quality management in all areas of education, research and development and innovation, as well as the transfer of knowledge to the corporate and social spheres (b) by constantly renewing the training structure and methodology, to attract foreign students and to increase its international educational embedding. In line with the government’s higher education strategy target system, the SZTE defines as a central development priority the infrastructural modernisation of medical, dental, pharmaceutical and medical training, driven by the following factors: the interdisciplinary approaches to the relevant fields of study and the overlapping of theoretical and clinical knowledge demands similar infrastructure and educational environments in the Hungarian student education of ~4.700 people in the relevant fields. The efficient, economical and innovative and innovative service of this technological, asset and building infrastructure needs can be ensured by the creation and operation of complex educational building blocks (b) more than 85 % of the currently more than 2,800 foreign students continue their studies in these fields of education, of which only 10 % are those who complete the full training at the SZTE. It is necessary to provide them with an educational programme where a theoretical and practical training environment that meets international standards, a combination of modern technology equipment and traditional medical values is provided. (C) the professional expectations of clinical and theoretical medicine of the 21st century, based on the routine applications of IT and 3D technologies, require basic modernisation in the infrastructure environment of both initial and postgraduate and vocational training. These developments are necessary to enable young graduates in the medical and health care sector to gain competitive expertise in the Hungarian environment, and to be able to work in a medical system based on the use of a modern diagnostic, therapeutic (surgical, oxyological, etc.) equipment park (d) the fragmented site structure providing the place for the medical and dental training of the SZTE — remote educational sites, multi-site student service functions — organisational — economic/operational — process mapping — create a disadvantage for HR needs. Based on the functional needs of the relevant training areas, rationalised building and equipment design is necessary for the application of the model of integrated training and curative care practice. Based on these elements, the overall objective of the project is: Modernisation of the physical infrastructure of medical, health and pharmacy education in line with the expectations of the 21st century, serving international training needs. The specific objective of the project is to: Infrastructure development focusing on the benefits of professional cooperation in doctors, dentists, pharmacists and health sciences at the SZTE, where the modern medical-health technology equipment pool is integrated into the practice-oriented training process, thus ensuring the needs of today’s technology- and IT-oriented student and training environment. The SZTE aims to achieve the objectives of the project by implementing activities that can be defined as part of investment components A and B, which are as follows for each investment element: • Investment component A: development of an integrated and interdisciplinary training toolkit; Modernisation of ICT tools and network and on-line education infrastructure for methodological development; Laboratory tools and equipment for practical training • Investment element B: Complete transformation of 2 buildings — planned ~15000 m² — into a functional/theoretical building as a training centre; Interprofessional asset developments for practical training: Acquisition of Skill tools, simulation lab tools; The planned results of the infrastructural development: (1) Establishment of a modern functional/theoretical building combining 2 student and training needs, with new side wing construction (2) Modernisation of an interdisciplinary training toolkit for medical — healthcare professionals (3) Establishment of an integrated training toolkit for dentistry — health care worker (dental hygienic) (4) Pharmaceutical training instrument and device pack modernisation (5) Establishment of a medical-dental training simulation toolkit: development of skill workstations for practical skills development (6) ICT, Wi-Fi supported learning environment in 2 buildings: ICT equipment upgrade and network infrastructure development
