The West Park is one of the largest metropolitan parks of general importance. It is surrounded by the residential complexes of Gevgeliiski, West Park, Sugar Factory, Holy Trinity, Ilinden, Nursery, Krasna Polyana, Lyulin 10 (as well as the other 9 microregions), with significant transport communications from the city center to Slivnitsa Boulevards and Tsaritsa Yoanna. The territory covers about 53 ha of net area up to the framing communications and about 60 ha gross/including communications and adjacent part of the contact areas/and has the following boundaries: • on the northeast — Slivnitsa Blvd. •to the south-east — Sofia — Pernik railway line •to the south-west — Tsaritsa Yoanna Blvd. On the north-west — Suhodolska river.The project’s object is restoration of the park in order to develop it and park its representative part with maximum preservation of its authentic appearance. This includes construction works for flooring renovation, replacement of park furniture, construction of new playgrounds, repair, replacement and construction of elements of the technical infrastructure, replacement of park lighting and construction of video surveillance, irrigation systems, etc. Therefore, the site is divided into ten sub-sites depending on their nature and vision: Rock and lake; Dry fountain of the main alley and the space around it; Main entrance to the park and the space around it; Rosarium; Color exhibition; Green school; Playground; Picnic nook; Walking dogs; It’s a dog playground. Outside the scope of the individual sub-sites, measures are also provided for the further development and development of the rest of the park — the alley network along the main two axes, outside the sub-sites and the other secondary alleys; remediation of vegetation in poor plant health; shaping the approaches to the park in order to eliminate or secure and develop the “unregulated” ones, etc.
