“Developing foreign language skills” in Zalaegerszeg Vocational Training Centre

On 1 July 2015, the Vocational Training Centre in Zalaegerszeg, which has a vocational training institution in three towns of Zala county, was established among the VET centres from KLIK: Zalaegerszeg, Keszthely and Lenti. The centre also includes ten member institutions. The governing organisation of the ZSZC can be found in Zalaegerszeg at Kinizsi Pál Street 74. In addition to day-to-day training, there is also a significant number of participants in adult education and adult education. The centre and its member institutions cooperate in professional training with entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, large enterprises and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Zala County. A wide range of training offers include health care, social services, education, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, IT, architecture. The ZSZC takes care of the development of competences for lifelong learning and the quality of education. It aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of language training. The lack of language skills in Zala County is also high. Only 22 % of the population speak the foreign languages in question. The ZSZC aims to increase foreign language skills in the context of the grant application to be submitted, with the aim of improving the gap in the region. Aim: citizens should be able to communicate and fit into the European average in at least two languages in addition to their mother tongue. The target group for the planned project was those with an interest in language learning. The survey was carried out in Zala County, where 2,700 people were reached. The direct target group is the population aged 16 to 65 capable of working. The target group with no or low level of skills from a foreign language, as well as young adults who are not subject to compulsory education in vocational education and training, have shown a total of 1,291 people who have shown a willingness to learn. The survey looked at the demand for which language. The most demanding is English. This represents 64 %, or 860, of the total number of 1291. In the second place, the German language is 32 % and 431 people, and the third is Russian, with a total of 4 % and 54 people. 984 participants will be involved in the training, of which at least 738 pass the final exam and receive a certificate, thus improving the knowledge of foreign languages for the students participating in the project, as they acquire competences and skills. The aim of this project is to develop, introduce and implement education through which we contribute to the development of foreign languages, to the development of knowledge of the population and is in line with the EU guidelines. Specific objective derived from the analysis of the environment of the target group: ensuring the possibility of language learning for 984 people. An external service provider is also involved in the provision of training courses, with 16 groups of 192 attending foreign language training. Based on the needs assessments, we plan to launch training in three cities: According to the survey in Keszthely, there would be a demand for 25 groups, which would amount to around 300 people. In Lenti, the survey showed that there would be a need for 4 groups, which would amount to around 50 people. Zalaegerszeg has the highest demand, so 45+ 8 groups are required for 82 groups, which is about 984 people, out of which the external service provider will take over 16 groups, they will start in English and German, get their own.66. The courses will take place within 120 hours. Project management has been compiled in such a way that experts from all important areas are involved.
