MÁV-START Zrt. Rolling stock development — development of a single service fleet

Between 2006 and 2010, MÁV Zrt. acquired a total of 60 electric trains from a loan granted by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The subject of the procurement is the 200-seat FLIRT train manufactured by Stadler AG, which received the number 415 001-060. The experience of operating the 415 001-060 trains is generally considered positive. Between 2014 and 2016, MÁV Group purchased 63 additional FLIRT trains from KÖZOP and IKOP sources, with track number 415 061-123. In addition to being at least 4 years younger for newly procured trains, their technical content differs from 415 001-060 in several respects. The different technical content of the trains reduces the efficiency of operation, which negatively affects not only the cost level of the operator, but also the availability of the trains. The selected version aims to develop 415 001-060 trains to the same technical content as 415 061-123. • Placing Braille writing in the passenger compartment and toilet room; • Install computer plugs and USB charging sockets; • Modernisation of the passenger information system; • Time synchronisation; • Modification of the platform for lifting equipment with reduced mobility; • Upgrading of internal video equipment; • Replacement of automatic valve for toilet tank unloading; • Covering the interior surface of the washroom with anti-graffit, scratch-resistant film; The development includes the unification of the external color design as an option task. The improvements planned are as follows:
