Development of the scenes of the Busó district

Mohács is a centre of regional development in South Transdanubia. Improvements in recent years have led to a steady increase in the region’s capacity to retain its population and to create jobs through tourism. At the same time, due to the high importance of bus rides, the local offer is characterised by seasonalisation in a slightly different way from the traditional ones, so the aim of the development under the present project is to be able to base a tourist offer on the sites for most of the year, and the cultural event, which is the main attraction, will have an impact throughout the tourist season. The related visitors-friendly museums, cultural programs and festivals help to make this offer live. The TOP is a call for the development of tourist attractions in order to achieve the above objectives. The role of traditional preservation in rural development is now recognised as a factor that helps the future generation to preserve the intellectual and material environment of the countryside. The originality of Mohács and the Bushwalk lies in the atmosphere. The heritage environment gives Mohács a self-evident image. Their residents can explore a means of preserving their identity in a project through partnership-based development. On this basis, the project planned by the Municipality of Mohács is justified. The aim is to provide a place worthy of the celebration of the populace, but today the most important local identity and symbol of the coexistence of the nationalities in Mohács. The content of the one-off event, which is prestigious at both national and international level, will thus be available throughout the year and for a wide range of groups. Since its inclusion in the UNESCO list of intellectual cultural heritage, there has been an increased interest in bus walking, which, during its six-day annual event, has to provide a high level of care and entertainment for tens of thousands of guests, sometimes more than multiples of the city’s population. These programmes take place in several locations. The centre of the event is Széchenyi Square, the main square of the city; with programmes involving maximum weight. The gastronomic care of the guests is served in the Heroes’ Park and the Guestyard set up in Deák Square, next to the main route, located about 300 m from the main square and forming the backbone of events. Here, catering companies from all over the country operate mobile service units and serve the guests of the bus stop. It has been established that this location is suitable for the above function, but the present state of the park, and the lack of utilities necessary for the reception of the Guestyard, makes the complete reconstruction of Heroes’ Park and Deák Square indispensable. Thanks to the development, Deák Square has a real event space function, which serves as a venue for organising not only bus stops, but also related events with additional tourist attraction in the city. In addition to Deák Square, Busóudvar and Széchenyi Square are also the location of the project. In Busóudvar, technical developments are being carried out that meet the expectations of the 21st century and interactive presentation forms are being developed. This part of the development is suitable for dealing with the seasonal unevenness of bus walking, thus reducing the impact of the phenomenon. The development aims at strengthening the city’s tourist, cultural and economic attractiveness and contributes to the role of the regional centre. The development increases the number of visitors to the city and destination and the number of nights. Tourism also has a spill-over and multiplier effect through the present project, so the services created provide spatial income shifting into the local economy to newer and new local businesses and generate new incomes. Mohács is a major historical settlement in Hungary. The main attraction of Mohács in the travel decision is the historical and cultural heritage of the settlement, and the most visible Busó district, which is also a priority product of cultural tourism. The target groups of cultural tourism are art lovers, exhibitions, museums, historical traditions, event tourists and school groups. The target group covers an extremely wide spectrum both in age, in willingness to pay and in sending areas, which is described in detail in Section 3.2 of the Business Plan. Construction is carried out in the framework of the reconstruction of the Heroes Park and the Deák Square. It consists of: Park construction, indoor stage, multimedia pool, walking paths, line-infra, establishment of service facilities. In order to implement innovative, interactive presentations, equipment purchases will also be carried out: acquisition of audio guide system, audio and light technology. In the framework of the interactive development of Busóudvar, the development of light painting, the purchase of exhibition installation, the acquisition of tools for buso designer, touch-floor dance le...
