With the complex development of the Fürdőkerti Event and Tourism Leisure Park in Hajdúböszörmény, our city intends to create a tourist development of regional importance and related tourism product packages, which aims to develop the region and the local economy by unleashing the potential of tourism’s territorial potential. The Hajdúböszörmény Bath Garden (which, unlike its name, is farther from the city spa) is an excellent location for the realisation of this tourist development, embedded in the southern, small-town residential area of the town, well accessible, a green island of several hectares, with a modern playground and a new youth hostel, which currently functions as a leisure park. The project aims to expand the tourist offer of Hajdúböszörmény and its region with the development of a multi-element tourism product package that focuses on complex experience and is well suited to the city’s other, multi-elements, spa tourism and active recreation facilities, thus ensuring the stay of visitors in the place for a longer period of time. In addition to the development of the Bath Garden for tourist purposes, the area’s function as a community space is expanded, providing family friendly recreation for the local population. Within the framework of the tender, we recommend the complex tourism development of the locally protected Bath Garden area as an event centre and an ecotourism demonstration centre, to which the development of a bicycle path for tourist purposes is integrated. The woody-ligetes area of the Bath Garden is a protected natural area of local importance, which is mainly due to its diverse flora, rich bird and amphibious fauna, which is worth presenting from a tourist point of view. In the framework of this, our municipality plans to create an ecotourism visitor centre in the area of the Bath Garden, which, in addition to presenting the natural values of the Bath Garden, aims to present the natural values, wildlife and local values of Hajdúhát, Nyírség and Hortobágy, as Hajdúböszörmény is located at the meeting point of these three small areas. The main elements of the development of the Ecotourism functions of the Bath Garden are: a visitor’s centre building open all year round, where an exhibition space for permanent exhibitions, and a multifunctional space for lectures, demonstrations, temporary exhibitions and interactive sessions are set up, complemented by the catering unit (buffet-café), the local product souvenir shop, and the playhouse that can be used in winter and summer, which is adapted to the theme of the visitors’ centre in its programs. The newly built building is made with accessible, state-of-the-art energy solutions, with a neck member added to the building of the existing youth hostel. Modern, interactive presentation tools are procured for the building through the development of visit management services, the target group of which is primarily preschool, primary and secondary school children. The next element of the ecotourism function is the creation of an interactive educational path in the green zone of the Bath Garden, which is complemented by resting places, cooking places and separate waste collection points. We intend to extend the existing playground with a thematic playground that matches the theme of the visitors’ centre. An important element of the Ecotourism Visitors’ Centre is the development of a hiking centre for active hiking, which provides a cycling tour centre primarily for the cycling tourist element of the project, but its aim is to provide services for other active tourist activities such as hiking organisation (walkers, riders, cyclists, bird monitoring, fishing, hunting, etc.), tourist information centre, rental of hiking equipment, resting place. This cycling tour centre is linked to another important tourist function of the Bath Garden development, namely by connecting the Bath Garden to the local cycle path network, we would make the area cycling trails developed recently by the Hungarian Cycling Club available. Within the framework of the project, a 1 040 m cycle path will be established, which will connect the Bathkert with a bicycle path to the Baltazár street section of the urban cycle network and the railway station. By connecting the train station, tourists wishing to take a bicycle can arrive by train, which can be the excellent starting or end stop of their tour at the Bath Garden Tour Center. The third element of the project is the development of the function of the Spa Garden Cultural Event Centre. Given the space limited in 5000 characters in this data sheet, the detailed professional content of the project, the involvement of professional and consortium partners, compliance with the required conditions and compliance with the content assessment criteria are presented in the attached business plan.
