Cycling-friendly sustainable transport development in Sárospatak

Development objective: Establishment of bicycle traffic facilities. The Integrated Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Sárospatak, prepared in 2015, considers the sustainable development of the accessibility of the municipality and its internal transport system as a priority strategic objective (strategic objective 2: Removing transport bottlenecks). The best way to ensure the sustainability of urban transport and to remove bottlenecks within the city is to facilitate modal shifts in alternative professional, recreational and tourist transport modes, including modal shift towards pedestrian, cycling and public transport modes. Against this background, the priority indicator set out in the Urban Development Strategy is to increase the percentage of people who choose walking, cycling or public transport as the main means of transport for daily journeys. Fortunately, the daily difficulties of passenger transport, the spread of environmentally friendly tourism and the constant change in the general approach of the population have also contributed to the fact that traffic patterns are changing more and more. As a result of the many years of effective awareness-raising work of the Hungarian Cycling Club, the popularity of walking and cycling transport is increasing throughout the country, which however requires the safety of pedestrian and cycling modes and the creation and improvement of the necessary infrastructural conditions. As part of our project, we aim to develop cycling and pedestrian-friendly traffic development in the Northern City and Endardó action area. In terms of the surroundings of the settlement, it is a residential area with a garden, which, however, is connected to the Eurovelo 11 cycle path by 2 points through the street Nefelfelcs and to one of the most important employers of the city. In addition to the location of the area designated for development, it is a suitable location for the infrastructure development of professional pedestrian and cycling-friendly transport, the area is also the northern gate of the downtown of Sárospatak, making it an excellent intervention area for the development of a multimodal diversion point (e.g. B+R bicycle park). Kazinczy Ferenc utca (Sárospatak bt. 1584)- Herczeg Ferenc utca (Sárospatak bt. On the route of 1635, 1710, 1733, 1581,1584, 1585) C5B collecting roads a total length of 825 m will be used to designate and construct a new “C” network role, with a point of direction, separated by a road marking on both sides of the road, for the one-way circulation of cyclists, the necessary renovation, expansion and remodeling of the municipal road for the purpose of reducing traffic, as well as the construction of an unobstructed pedestrian walkway on one side. As part of the investment, the line transport facilities are constructed with the following load-bearing strata: 22 cm thick sandy gravel frost protector/soil improver layer, 15 cm thick Ckt road base, 50 cm sandy gravel frost protector/soil improver layer, 25 cm thick M56 road base, 7 cm thick AC-11 asphalt binding layer, 4 cm thick AC-8 asphalt wear layer. As part of the investment, in order to reduce the volume of existing car traffic passing through the city centre areas at the junction of Virág utca- Herczeg Ferenc utca- Szabó József utca (Sárospatak bt. At the existing parking lot 1568, 1569, 1549), bicycle storage facilities for B+R are installed. Whereas the project also involves public utility lines, so that the project involves the relocation of water pipes on the affected section of the modified and expanded road, the organisation of rainfall channels (140 running metres DN 300 plumbing, 270 running metres DN 100 refurbishment, 600 linear metres DN 800 KD-EXTRA channel, 410 linear metres DN 400 KD-EXTRA channel, 360 running metres DN 200 KD-EXTRA canal construction; The construction of 38 DN80 cleaning pits, the construction of 58 48X48 sinkholes), the relocation of communication and street lighting poles to the extent justified by the project, as well as the construction of benches and special edges, restoration of the green surfaces required by the regulatory plan, wooding and grassing. The planned technical content of the pedestrian, bicycle traffic and modified road transport facilities planned in the project complies with the relevant MSZT EN standards established on behalf of the Hungarian Public Road, as well as with the latest road regulations and design guides in force since 2013 (with particular emphasis on road regulations e-UT 03.04.11:2010 (ÚT 2-1,203) for the design of bicycle traffic facilities). When establishing the route of the pedestrian, bicycle traffic and remodeled road transport facilities planned in the project, we took into account the
