Cycling-friendly developments in Jászberény

Project objective: Expanding the existing cycle path network, giving priority to urban cycling as a sustainable mode of transport. Increasing the share of cycling, thereby reducing the number of cars, i.e. laying the foundations for sustainable transport. With the development, a network of bicycle paths can be created in the settlement, with which the settlement can be accessed by the major administrative and industrial facilities. The town was awarded the title of cycling-friendly settlement in 2014 and 2015 and is still applying for it this year. Technical and technical content of the project: In Jászberény, several bicycle roads have been built from Hungarian and EU sources in recent years. Thanks to this, the area of the settlement can be safely surrounded by bicycle. Thanks to the development, new bicycle traffic facilities will be built, refurbished and thus new parts of the city and this whole town become more cycling friendly and securely accessible. Trails: I. Gyöngyösi út — Lehel vezér tér (main road No. 32) (section between Aladár Rácz street — Megyeház street): unseparated walking and cycling path in 0.411 km length. Between the Rácz Aladár — Petőfi Sándor street 214 m long asphalt structure, with a cover width of 3.6 m. On the section between Sándor Petőfi and Nagyház utca, the width remains, but it is changed to viacolor track structure, gray part — pedestrian, even on the red part a bicycle pictogram is painted. The section between the Great Church — Megyeház street, adapted to the existing pavement in 4.2 m width. From the 0+ 366 section, a green strip of 1.110 m is installed on the last 45 m between the 2 m wide cyclist and the 2,70-4.2 m sidewalk, due to the narrowing of the pavement due to the staircases in front of the buildings. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the trail: 1 museum, 2 educational institutions, Post, 10 commercial units. II. Extension of the section of the Nádor Street cycle path — unseparated walking and cycling path is built 0.046 km in length, with a casing width of 2.75 m from the parking entrance to the existing square stone cladding of Lehel Vér tér. In Lehel’s main square, the planned facility will be painted on the existing square stone covering 16 m in length, which is connected to the existing pedestrian crossing point. In addition, before the planning stage, a 7 m long bicycle crossing at the entrance of the car park must be established after the reconstruction of the car park. The design area includes the entire area of the existing car park, including the parking entrance on Nádor Street. During the reconstruction of the parking lot, the support wall section in the southern part of the car park must be moved towards the church at a distance of 2.0 m. A separate static plan is made for the support wall structure. On the north side of the parking lot, to provide the structure gauge between the planned cycling facility, a 35 cm wide buffer strip connected to the border “K” is connected, which is built with a support of the edge of the car park. The overall width of the edges and the buffer strip is 0.75 m, which ensures the appropriate clearance between the two installations. 30 car parks are designated in the rebuilt parking lot, 2 of which serve as designated parking spaces for disabled people. In addition, 1 motorcycle storage and 2 bicycle storage for 4-4 seats. In the immediate surroundings of the trail you can find the Post, Assumption Church. III. St. Stephen’s boulevard section for walking and cycling paths without separation on Szent István krt. in 0.966 km length. On the entire section of Szent István krt., the existing footpath will be rebuilt as an installation with a width of 2.75 m. On this section, two pedestrian crossings are connected to the planned unseparated walking and cycle path, of which the 1+ 085 km section will be rebuilt as a pedestrian crossing point, as the current design does not allow for cycling. The planned cycling facility will be moved from the south side to the north at the pedestrian crossing point to be rebuilt because the space requirement is suitable for the necessary geometric design on this street side. A pedestrian pictogram shall be painted at the beginning of the cycle road sections and at the beginning of the pedestrian sections, which shall also be repeated during the stages as an additional warning. Ineligible activities: Construction of a bridge console. Between the 1+ 220-1+ 242 km sections of the planned section, a bicycle passage will be built on the northern side of the existing bridge crossing the city tailgate. In the immediate vicinity of the trail there are 3 educational institutions, 4 commercial units. IV. Mária street, Szelei út (3117 road) — 0.494 km long transport facility is being built. Beginning of section 31113 j. access road (Kossuth L. street) 2+ 787 km
