As part of the project, the Jászapáti Unified Social Institution will be modernised and expanded. The living-care building for the elderly was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It was originally one of the civilian residential buildings of the then renewed main street. The preservation of these buildings, the restoration of their original façade is one of the objectives of the Municipality of Jászapáti. The property is municipal property. In 2015, the street front part of the building, which serves as day care for the elderly, was renovated. During the renovation, the barrier-free ramp for accessing the building, the barrier-free toilet and shower, the thermal insulation of facade walls, the replacement of doors and windows, the insulation of the walls and the floor structure against moisture and the replacement of interior coverings were completed. An outbuilding built over the last century, built at several stages of construction, is now hosting home assistance and social catering facilities. The parts of the outbuilding were originally built with low-quality building materials and technical solutions. Over time, their technical condition continued to deteriorate, the roof soaked in some places, the walls gradually deteriorated, thermally outdated. In its present state, the part of the building cannot be refurbished economically. During the use of the building, a significant difference in floor level between the floor level of the main and the outbuildings is a major problem. The physical parameters of the building do not allow for the creation of internal barrier-free traffic while maintaining the existing annex. In addition, the ceilings of the existing building do not meet the needs. As a result of the above, after the demolition of the poor part of the building, the building on the street front, which was renovated in 2015, would be expanded. On the ground floor of the part of the building with a surface area of about 220 m² resulting from the extension, functions for the care of the elderly, washing, ironing and drying rooms, laundry storage, chemical and detergent warehouses, as well as the serving kitchen and the related delivery room and sanitary facilities would be installed, while in the attic the changing rooms, the kitchenette and the offices for the administration would be installed. The project does not have a foreseeable climate risk.
