The grant application entitled “Strengthening local identity and cohesion in the region of Szabadszentkirály” is carried out in a consortium of 7 municipalities and the Baranya County Municipality. The municipalities involved are: Municipality of Vajszló (number of inhabitants: 1759 people) Piskó COMMUNITY (number of inhabitants: 242 persons) OF THE REPUBLIC OF Vejt (number of inhabitants: 169 persons) DORKING COMMUNITY (number of inhabitants: 190 people) ZALÁTA COMMUNITY (number of inhabitants: 207 persons (number of inhabitants of the village: 210 people) Spying COMMUNITY (number of inhabitants: 448 people) The main objective of the project is the development of local communities. The action involves the implementation of community development processes and community-participating planning practices, recreational, crime prevention, public safety and road safety programmes, strengthening community-based local identity. As a result of the interventions the members of the community develop their sense of responsibility towards each other, and the strengthening of local civil society helps to resolve local community conflicts and strengthen the capacity to act independently, to strengthen civic activity, to develop and strengthen the necessary competences, volunteering, local identity and attachment to settlements, parts of settlements and regions. The aim of the development is in line with the Local Equal Opportunities Programme of the settlements. The project, as defined in the county ITP, is composed of the following elements and activities: A) Initiation and implementation of Community development processes for self-eligible activities 1. Survey and planning involving Communities (e.g.: social interviews, community survey, social interviews) 2. Historical exploration of community activities and making them accessible to the public (e.g.: exploration and collection of local values) 3. Implementation of community actions, activities, events, programmes, processes (e.g.: neighbourhood celebration, community local knowledge exhibitions) 4. Review and renewal of defining documents (HEPs, public education regulations, other strategy papers) 5. Establishment of a community information point informing about the community development process in Vajszló) 6. Ensuring the professional quality of the community development process (e.g.: community development animator training, implementation of study tours, assignment of professional manager) B) Optional, ineligible activities 1. Programmes to help prevent and improve public security (programmes involving members of local communities to improve public security) 2. Road safety programmes (programmes involving members of local communities to improve local transport culture) 3. Purchase of equipment (acquisition of equipment related to programmes) C) Compulsory ineligible activities 1. ICT accessibility (e.g.: accessible website) 2. Provision of publicity (mandatory publicity) D) Other 1. Project management (the employment of a major project manager for the entire duration of the project in order to provide project management) The detailed professional content of the project was presented in the founding document. The technical-professional content of the project was compiled on the basis of point 3.4 of the call. In the process of community development, the community mode of work has become in mind, i.e. the member of the community becomes important. The programmes are implemented along a structured theme and concept. The development goals are in line with the HEP. We followed the methodology of the priority project “Communities in Action” when compiling the project. The project meets the substantive assessment criteria. The development fits the goals of the TOP, is professionally justified, well-founded and complex. The budget of the project was planned in a cost-effective way. The project is not exclusionary and respects the principles of equal opportunities. The community development process will be implemented following the methodology of the priority project “Communities in Action” and with the professional support of the community development mentor. The project will be implemented in 7 municipalities in the less developed South Transdanubia region. The community development process concerns a clearly delimited geographical area, settlements with a population of up to 500 inhabitants and no more than 15,000 inhabitants. The implementation period of the project is 40 months, of which 36 months are the implementation period available for the implementation of the programmes.
