Strengthening local identity and cohesion in the Jászberény microregion

Jászberény Municipality — Jászágó Municipality, — Jászboldogháza Municipality, — Jászfelsőszentgyörgy Municipality, — Jászjákóhalma Municipality, — Jásztelek Municipality, — Pusztamonostor Municipality, and — Jász Museum as consortium partner for the call TOP-5.3.1-16 — Strengthening local identity and cohesion. The consortium is headed by Jászberény Municipality. The activities and services planned by the project are implemented in the municipalities of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, Jászberényi district, Jászberény, Jászjákóhalma, Jászboldogháza, Pusztamonostor, Iászagón, Iászfelsőszentgyörgy and Jásztelken. In the case of Jászberény, the direct community development process focuses on one part of the settlement. This part of the town is the city centre. Its borders are made up of Cooperative Road, Thököly u., Hatvani u., Nádor u., Petőfi u., Bercsényi u., then the Cooperative Road again. The municipalities concerned are contiguous. The total population of the target area is 11 450 people, whose settlement/part of settlement is divided as follows: Jászagó 714; Jászberény (Budapest) 1 138; Jászboldogháza 1 684; Jászfelsőszentgyörgy 1 878; Jászakóhalma 2 888; Jásztelek 1 618; Pusztamonostor 1530. The aim of the project is to increase social activity, to strengthen community engagement in the municipalities involved in the development, to strengthen the relationship between municipalities, cultural institutions and residents of the settlements, and to raise the culture of cooperation to a higher level. The aim is to support the cooperation of the cultural institutions network with the involvement of the public and civil society organisations. In this way, the community of settlements is strengthened and forged. In the long term, there can be countless beneficial benefits for both the economy and individual development, thereby increasing the social self-awareness and the retention power of the settlement. In terms of social coexistence, catching up and community development, the entire population living in the field of the project is a target group. In the first half of the project, a local action plan will be set up on the basis of a community needs assessment. After all, the community development process and the strengthening of identity will start with the participation of the people that can be activated, for which the applicant municipalities tried to develop program opportunities that are new and unique in the community scenes with the programme elements that develop the individual skills included therein.
