Refurbishment of Csokonai Road

The aim of the project is to improve the conditions/quality of car, pedestrian and public transport, and to improve pedestrian safety. The investment improves the operating conditions of local businesses and the labour mobility of the population. The development of basic infrastructure provides space for the development of the economy, trade and services, thus contributing to the growth of the municipality’s revenue-generating capacity. Our aim is therefore to promote the development of the existing economic area, the establishment of businesses, and indirectly the increase of employment through better access to economic territory. The investment is carried out in accordance with the Integrated Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Salgótarján. Self-eligible activity: — development of the path towards local government-owned economic areas in order to improve labour mobility, optional activities that are not self-eligible: — construction of car parks related to the investment — modernisation and construction of utilities infrastructure — renovation of bus stops — construction of the missing pavement sections along the road section affected by the investment The professional content of the investment: The renovation of Csokonai Road will take place from Rákóczi út connection to Nagymező út connection, 1 702 m long, with a surface width of 6.0 m or more. During road refurbishment, the road will receive a new asphalt covering on the entire surface, a new highlighted border will be made over the entire length and the existing pavement will be refurbished with viacolor pavement. Where there is no pavement, a new pavement is also made with viacolor. Thus, pedestrians will be able to travel on the pavement along the whole length of the refurbished road. Bus stops will be renewed and new waiting rooms will be installed. In front of the Borbély Lajos Vocational School, Vocational School and College, new asphalt car parks (parallel or perpendicular, total 23 seats) are made. Before the road is refurbished, work will also be carried out in connection with backbone and access pipelines, fire hydrants and sewage pipes. Design documentation related to road renewal, drinking water backbone and access lines (existing, missing), fire hydrants and sewage reconstruction and replacement are available. The reconstruction of the drinking water pipeline is subject to a water-legal construction permit, which requires considerable time, so the project can be realised in 2017. All in all, the project under the heading "Roads: total length of renewed or upgraded roads’ contributes to the performance framework indicator commitment of 1.702 km. Ownership: The lands of 5958/1 and 5958/4 resulting from the division of the property of hr 5958/2 affected by the investment (the summary decision of the land registry attached to the aid application) are owned by the municipality, and the property of the land of hrs 4103/9 is currently being transferred to the municipality free of charge. Ownership shall be settled at the latest by the completion of the milestone for public procurement. Traffic type: Csokonai Road is an average road with all types of vehicles appearing on the road. Passenger car traffic is the most common of the vehicles, and trucks are very rarely used. The road also involves regular bus transport. On Csokonai Road, 15 partnerships and 8 sole proprietorships are currently engaged in economic activities. In the surrounding streets (Esze Tamás út, Kálmán Imre út, Kölcsey út, Lakatos P. road, Nagymező út, Patakpart Road, Réka street, Rózsafa út, Sugár út) there are 83 other companies. Thanks to the investment carried out within the framework of the project, the locations and headquarters of industrial and economic areas and SMEs accessible from the target area by road will be easily accessible. Improving infrastructure conditions will make the economic areas in the southern part of the city more competitive. Better access to the economic area will help to develop the existing economic area, set up businesses, indirectly create new jobs and thus increase employment. Approaching Csokonai Road from the north, there is a significant commercial service area on the right side, as well as an industrial economic area. As a result of the investment, the speed limit on the road will be removed, thereby reducing the daily commute between labour, work and residence in the southern part of the city and in neighbouring settlements (e.g. Vizslás, Kazár). There is also regular bus transport on Csokonai Road. The investment under the project therefore also contributes to the improvement of the conditions of public transport, thereby also promoting labour mobility.
