Development of a green city in Miskolc — Tapolca action area

In the Miskolc Tapolca action area, the planned interventions improve the overall environmental state of the city area and help to put the settlement on a sustainable development path. Within the framework of the project, the following project elements are planned: With the rehabilitation of the boating lake, attractive recreation and recreation “green” area will be renovated, the thermal island effect of the city climate is reduced. With the rehabilitation of the lake, which previously has a variety of wildlife, the foregrounds are renewed and the biodiversity of the lake is growing. With the reconstruction of the coast wall, the soil erosion from the mountain is treated. Along with the rehabilitation of the lake, pedestrian promenades providing access to the lake will also be renewed. A catering service will be established on the island on the lake, which will be operated by the municipal-owned company. The Barabits promenade, which is the frequented street of the settlement, will be renewed, a row of pavilions for economic recovery will be set up, and a new playground will be created directly. Building an active recreation green area of Hejő grove: The area is currently a popular picnic place for the urban population, primarily living in the nearby Avasi housing estate. The area is repositioned as a whole by the development of the previously unsupervised area. In the course of the investment, the plant stock will be renewed and biodiversity is growing. If necessary, the sick trees are removed and the necessary nursing work is carried out. The shore of the Hejő stream is settled during a single dredging. The area provides an excellent place to create exciting play and sports areas for all ages and even for dogs. The aim is to create an active urban green area with modern appearance, disaggregated by age group. Infrastructure interventions are complemented by so-called “soft” activities, under which planned programmes and actions are implemented, thereby increasing the added value of the investment. The project design will take into account its potential for climate mitigation and adaptation and ensure resilience to climate change and natural disasters. The budget was drawn up taking into account the internal constraints laid down in the call for proposals. The exact technical content of the project will be elaborated in detail during the project development.
