Development of the Millennium Public Park of Tatabánya

The Millennium Public Park is located in the centre of Tatabánya, which is bounded by the road of the Republic and the Budapest-Vienna railway line. Its territory is more than 9 ha, of which the Lake Csólak is 2.2 ha, which has become a popular place for resting and sports since its construction in 1984. it is bounded by the plot of Galla Creek and Waterworks from É and K, from D by the planned connecting road Sárberek-Bánhida on the Sárberki collective road, and from Ny by the railway. The running promenade around the lake was refurbished in 2014 (new rink, renewal of two promenades). Currently, visitors can relax on benches, use outdoor fitness equipment and a playground is available for the small ones. The Jubileum Park is intrinsically connected to the area, but only a narrow pair of pedestrian and barrier-free bridges across the Galla stream connects them. the “main entrance” is missing, it consists of a simple barrier and poor quality gravel road, the park and the lake are not surrounded by a natural environment, it is too artificial in appearance, it is significantly delimited by the nearby infrastructure. The green area lacks movement, lacks space designs, there is no more direct connection between the visitor and the water. The park is characterised by simplicity, because of the spatial design, the gaze immediately crosses the area, does not hold the visitor. In accordance with the objectives of the project, the Millennium Park will become a modern multifunctional public park with classic lines and modern design, which provides a more dignified environment for the Millennium Monument and fulfils its recreational function that meets the needs of the population, contributing to the improvement of the city’s liveability. and the proper formation and expansion of vegetation by giving preference to plants that are well adapted to local conditions in order to achieve a real park atmosphere (up to 3.3.1.1.2 to 1 and 2).In the course of the construction of the entrance sections, high-quality reception areas with a similar image will be waiting for visitors here (up.3.1.1.2. c II. 2).The current spontaneous road network is replaced by an integrally interlinked system of aesthetic spaces (uph.3.1.2.2.g).The areas directly connected to the lake are located in the areas directly connected to the lake, the areas explored for recreation, play and sports are located, thus creating a more direct connection between the visitor and the water surface. Our goal is to fill the unused parts with the function, bearing in mind that a well-utilised community space is also created for the implementation of urban events, so the old built stage is demolished and two new mobile stages are created near it (3.1.1.2.c II.2.). It currently has little features compared to the size of the park, which is why it is necessary to add new, spectacular, popular elements: creation of a central large pier with resting areas (up to 3.1.2 c II. 2), refurbishment of the current promenades and the development of new ones (uph.3.1.2.2.g) and the installation of suitable resting and picnic places (up to 3.1.2.2. i and k). New pedestrian bridges will be set up to make it easier to access and connect to the environment (e.g. connection to Jubileum Park) (up.3.1.2.2.4.).A new rolling track will also ensure unclouded recreation for young people (up to 3.3.1.2).In order to meet basic needs, it is also essential to provide a public toilet, which will be implemented in the framework of this project (up to 3.1.2.2.k). the new playground and the renewed fitness place (up to 3.3.1.1.2 a 4) will be created for the pleasure of the owners of the dog (up to 3.3.1.2) and the environment of the island and the millennium memorial will be renewed (up to 3.3.1.2 a).The recovery activity of the project is the establishment of a café to strengthen the functional diversity of the park (uph.3.1.1.2 cI.2). 2). The development is complemented by a soft element that develops the image and identity of the municipality. Its aim is to strengthen the attachment of the inhabitants to the city and to support their stay in place. Thanks to the realisation of all of these, the renewable park becomes an attractive, versatile, beautiful and healthy urban park that fits into the structure of the settlement and becomes a centre for outdoor events and recreation with its long-term sustainability. The project fits into the city’s existing settlement tools, complies with environmental equality legislation, has no impact on energy use, the ecological state of the environment, the state of water and climate change.
