The aim of our project is to develop the cycling road network in the framework of the sustainable transport development of Dunaújváros in such a way that a complex network of cycling roads for sustainable transport is established by connecting the already existing sections of the city and creating their surroundings and making their environment safe. This will encourage the population of the city to travel by cycling and increase the number of people using bicycles as the main means of transport. In our project we implement the following activities: 3.1.1 Self-eligible activities: A) Cycling-friendly development: a) making the road network of Dunaújváros a cyclist friendly by designating and constructing bicycle traffic facilities, b) establishing a cycle route between the settlement centre and parts of the settlement, and eliminating the disruptions of the current network. B) Traffic reduction, road safety, accessibility a) Transport safety investment: establishment and development of pedestrian crossings and cycling crossings, reconstruction, development and dampening of junctions, implementation of road safety measures by other means, redistribution and reduction of traffic lanes. B) Constructions, reconstructions, demolitions, traffic engineering interventions, green area development, remodeling of traffic patterns, constructions and renovations related to the redistribution of road surfaces. 3.1.2.1 Compulsory non-eligible activities: D) publicity, e) the implementation of an awareness-raising campaign aimed at promoting cycling and/or raising awareness for road safety as part of the project. 3.1.2.2 Optional, ineligible activities: D) 3. Development of additional infrastructure elements: construction, purchase and placement of bicycle supports, bicycle parks and other accessories. Development and relocation of car parks and safety lanes related to the investment. Installation of street furniture. 4. Building and refurbishing a pavement within a residential area is the separation of pedestrian and cycling surfaces; or improving road safety; or the implementation of accessibility; or to replace the missing sidewalks along the already established cycle paths. 7. The construction of a cycling rest area for an outlying cycling route of more than 5 km. 10. Infrastructural works necessary for the implementation of eligible activities, construction and reconstruction of rainwater drainage, traffic-technical activities, construction and refurbishment of works of art, complex land preparation works, works required by the authority’s licence. 11. Building and refurbishment works on the topographical numbers of the above activities in the immediate surroundings of infrastructure interventions or for the creation of an environment for sustainable urban and municipal transport. 15. Refurbishment and construction of road bridges and non-level crossings and crossings for eligible activities. Our project does not constitute state aid as the eligible costs can be activated for the investment of the Municipality: infrastructure is not competitive, privately funded and benefits society as a whole. On the basis of the substantive assessment criteria, the objectives of the project are in line with the objectives of the TOP, and the project does not fall within the scope of the grant. The project implements the activities listed in point 3.1, a cycling network plan is attached, studies and design documentation will be developed up to milestone 1. The milestones were logically built, and the project did not involve the purchase of real estate. When designing the technical content of the project, we took into account the need to ensure safe transport for all transport operators and to ensure that the development complies with the relevant legislation. The investment also includes an awareness-raising element and contributes to improving road safety. As a result of the investment, the situation of sustainable modes of transport will be improved without undue harm to the environment, in line with ITS. There is no need for asbestos removal in the project. In the design of the project, we took into account compliance with financial sustainability and equal opportunities aspects, and the project was designed in a cost-effective way with a cost-effective budget. The project will help to increase the share of people who choose bicycles as the main means of transport for daily travel.
