In the framework of the present project, Kandó Kálmán Square, which is technically and traffic-technically uncompromising, is a cyclist-friendly, traffic-absorbing and road safety development. The area in front of the Dunaújváros Railway Station is currently extremely dangerous and the linking of the travel chains, despite the favourable conditions, is poorly or not solved at all. The construction of a connecting cycle path would connect existing elements and ensure an unobstructed approach, the rebuilding of the junction would significantly increase road safety. Activities carried out: A) Cycling-friendly development: the establishment of a cycling route between workplaces located outside a residential area and the urban area of the settlement. B) traffic reduction, road safety, accessibility: a) Transport safety investment: Establishment, lighting and development of pedestrian crossings and cycling crossings, rebuilding, upgrading and dampening of junctions, development and construction of settlement gates; B) traffic reduction in order to achieve sustainable urban transport and a more liveable urban and urban environment: Constructions, reconstructions, demolitions, traffic engineering interventions, green area development, remodeling of traffic order, constructions and renovations related to the redistribution of road surfaces. Public road transport: a) Development of the traffic path: The development of separate bus lanes for public road transport or for shared cycling and public transport. Related activity group: 1. The development and refurbishment of municipal and public roads, with the objective of sustainable transport; 4. Construction and refurbishment of pavement within a populated area in order to improve road safety and achieve accessibility; 6. The development of nodes in order to enhance, prioritise and seamlessly pass the transport safety of sustainable modes of transport (walking, cycling, public); 10. Infrastructure works required to carry out eligible actions (infrastructural elements located below, above and next to roads (e.g.: modernisation of utilities, etc.), construction and rebuilding of rainwater drainage, traffic engineering activities, construction and refurbishment of artefacts, complex landscaping works (demolition, landscaping), execution of the works required by a specialist authority’s licence; 11. Building and refurbishment works on the topographical numbers of the above activities in the immediate surroundings of infrastructure interventions or for the creation of an environment for sustainable urban and municipal transport (plant planting, etc.). As part of the project, a cycling and/or awareness-raising campaign will be implemented. The development is linked to the renovation of the Buda Nagy Antal Road under measure TOP 6.1.5 and the establishment of an intermodal passenger junction in the framework of the Modern Cities Programme. Our project does not constitute state aid as the eligible costs can be activated for the investment of the Municipality: infrastructure is not competitive, privately funded and benefits society as a whole. On the basis of the substantive assessment criteria, the objectives of the project are in line with the objectives of the TOP, and the project does not fall within the scope of the grant. The project implements the activities listed in point 3.1, a cycling network plan is attached, studies and design documentation will be developed up to milestone 1. The milestones are logically built, the project is affected by the purchase of real estate, and ownership is settled in the project. When designing the technical content of the project, we took into account the need to ensure safe transport for all transport operators and to ensure that the development complies with the relevant legislation. The investment also includes an awareness-raising element and contributes to improving road safety. As a result of the investment, the situation of sustainable modes of transport will be improved without undue harm to the environment, in line with ITS. There is no need for asbestos removal in the project. In the design of the project, we took into account compliance with financial sustainability and equal opportunities aspects, and the project was designed in a cost-effective way with a cost-effective budget. The project will help to increase the share of people who choose bicycles as the main means of transport for daily travel.
