The Municipality of Kiskunfélegyháza aims to implement local integrated, community development and local identity development, primarily cultural and community content, so that they also support local economic development goals. The main objectives are the renewal of local society and the development of a local and community-based economy. The city events and celebrations organised by the municipality are an opportunity to offer a wide range of entertainment and recreation community-enhancing programs that are public and free of charge. The main goal of the municipality is for the producers and craftsmen of the city to appear at the festivals, presenting their products to the large number of guests, thereby increasing the tourist and economic attractiveness of Kiskunfélegyháza. In Kiskunfélegyháza, the quality of cultural life and urban events has steadily increased in recent years, their offer has become more colourful, the long-forgotten traditional programs have revived. Apparently, the city was re-established and a kind of “urban effervescence” began. On the one hand, it is necessary to continuously expand and develop urban events and to meet as much as possible the population needs of the city, based on the following aspects: — maintaining and developing the diversity of the cultural life of the city — cultivating cultural traditions — meeting the cultural needs of the population — widening the cultural relations of the city — expanding the programme offer of the city’s events, organising related programs — local crafts exhibition, local entrepreneurial product presentation, which serves economic development objectives. Planned date of the Urban Majal Event: 1 May 2019, Proposed venue of the event: As in recent years, the park forest is the venue for the urban monkey, this event, which can be called a family friendly event. Taking advantage of the forest’s potential, the programmes take place in two clearings. Colourful stage shows are available from morning to evening, closing with a star performer, and “small cleansing” hosts sports shows, NGOs, merchants, many outgoing cooking teams and the popular amusement park. During the organisation of this program, the municipality consciously strives to create a true “retro” atmosphere, as people are happy to go out to the park forest and nostalgic about the monkeys of the 70s and 80s. In recent years, we have already welcomed Éva Csepregi and Neoton Família, which hosts the big live music concert, and this year Ferenc Demjén will perform on the stage of the park forest. Town Founders Week Traditional and Cultural Festival Date: 18-26 May 2019 Planned venue for the event: The Municipality of Kiskunfélegyháza has been organising this festival for more than a decade, each year in May, on the occasion of the celebration of the establishment of our city. On the weekend of the week of the founders’ week, the main role is the open-air stage set up in the city, where a rich cultural program is offered to visitors, along with those artisanal vendors whose goods can be purchased. The good atmosphere and gastronomic offer are provided by high-quality catering units. In recent years, Magdi Rúzsa, the Republic band, Péter Geszti and Rapülők have appeared among the stars. The festival also greatly enhances the tourist value, visitors and attractiveness of our city. In addition, we continuously strive to provide the talents and talented young people of Kiskunfélegyháza with the opportunity to perform, therefore the constant performers of these series are, for example, the members of the Kiskunfélegyháza Youth Concert, the Padkaporos Dance Ensemble, the young bands of Rocktár, the Windwalker Balladás Ensemble, the Silves Step Dance Studio, and groups that have aged the reputation of Kiskunfélegyháza’s town, but in many cases beyond the borders of the country. In 2019, we wish to enrich the tradition-preserving event of the town founders’ week in the parking lot next to the City Sports Hall, in a renewed location.
