Energysense is an ongoing programme under the Energy Academy Europe (EAE) to facilitate research and innovation in the field of energy transition. Until now, Energysense focuses mainly on scientific research by knowledge institutions. The Energysense Proeftuin project aims at a major expansion that makes the Energysense facility accessible to SMEs and product development. The University of Groningen, Entrance, Cedel, Things IO and Vereniging Slim Wonen work with Energy to optimally develop all services and the network around the testing ground. In this project, Energysense aims to set up a testing ground with 3000 households, prepare it for use by SMEs and develop the associated services for SMEs. The Energysense Proeftuin will function as a data and validation platform for innovations from the construction, energy and ICT sectors, the Dutch testing ground for testing new energy services and products in households.
