From biomechanical measurement to innovative winding corrections

In general, this project develops knowledge about how input from personal biomechanical measurements can be used to produce a tailor-made medical device through an algorithm. More specifically, knowledge is developed that translates the individual winding properties of a foot into a custom-made winding correction by means of an algorithm. The focus is on outsoles with individual winding corrections. To this end, knowledge is also gained on innovative manufacturing methods and material science. The importance of a good resolution correction is great. Among other things, running causes many injuries to the Achilles tendon and tendon plate (fasciitis plantaris). About 20 % of all runners suffer from this. This group will benefit from a better winding correction (sole).
