Business development cheques, Skåne

The current COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact on developments in Skåne. The productivity challenge is raised as a specific priority area in Skåne’s regional development strategy. If the productivity challenge is to succeed, efforts need to be focused on the obstacles faced by businesses to growth. Skåne’s Innovation Strategy for Sustainable Growth highlights the following areas as obstacles to growth: digitalisation, export support for new markets, green transition and financing. The project therefore intends to offer business development vouchers in the areas of circular economy, digitalisation and green transition. Digitalisation, internationalisation cheques and circular economy cheques are intended to respond to and facilitate companies’ ability to accompany the ensuing structural transformation accelerated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The target group for the action is small and medium-sized enterprises in Skåne, with good adaptability and the opportunity to emerge stronger from the crisis by investing in development, innovation and innovation. The aim of the project is to receive 200 expressions of interest and to grant a business development voucher to about 100 small and medium-sized companies in Skåne. Through an increased degree of internationalisation, digitalisation and green transition, the project will contribute to increased growth and of small and medium-sized enterprises in Skåne. The transition will lead to new business that secures the future of businesses and helps them grow. The result will be successful companies that stand strong and competitive. Another of the most important long-term effects is that the project will have established and strengthened the work of the business development voucher partnerships that will live on after the end of the project. Through a conscious focus on the horizontal criteria of gender, ethnicity and geography, the project can be expected to contribute to sustainable regional growth. The structure and process of the business development vouchers for digitalisation and internationalisation has been developed for many years and works well. The Business Assessment Partnerships consist of a palette of business promoters, specialised in internationalisation and digitalisation.
