AM LIFT

Am — Additive Manufacturing or everyday 3D printing is one of the techniques in what is called Industry 4.0. Am is part of the technologies that it believes will transform the industry and make production and products more sustainable from an energy and environmental perspective. The pilot project is a collaboration project between Alfred Nobel Science Park, Curt Nicolin Gymnasiet and Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center. The idea is to test and further develop the model for an AM-Lyft (inspired by Robot Lift, Production Lift, and similar national programs). The model was developed in 2020 within the framework of a national feasibility study funded by the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth. Participants in the pre-study were Alfred Nobel Science Park, IUC, RISE and Region Örebro County. The aim is to develop a well-packaged offer to small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, test and refine the model and develop illustrative and inspiring concrete examples that can attract more SMEs to develop AM technology in their production. This will be done through inspirational seminars, coaching, competence workshops and concrete advice. Cooperation will take place with private actors in test environments. The participating company may then choose to print the product. However, this service is not provided by the pilot project. Instead, other financial instruments (business cheques, ALMI loans, own financing, etc.) are available to companies and to which the project team can refer. In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to more manufacturing companies seeing the benefits, and starting to use the technology. This, in turn, leads to innovation, ability to change, increased growth and an increased degree of sustainable production in businesses.
