In 2020 and still in 2021, the pandemic has hit many companies in the county, as many quickly became vulnerable as the world changes. At the same time, companies recognise that change and development are needed to become more competitive and survive in the long term. This applies both to environmental developments, which will require ever more and more, but also digitalisation and an expanded market to be competitive vis-à-vis the outside world. The project is therefore seeking funding for business development vouchers to give companies in the county whose operations are affected by the Corona pandemic the opportunity to be helped to strengthen and develop. Business aid is expected to give companies a faster development and the opportunity to increase turnover, secure/increase the number of employees and thus become more competitive. In the county, we see a need for many companies to develop both in terms of digitalisation and green transition. In some industries, digitalisation is very weak and companies should grow and survive in the long term, digital change is needed. The same applies to the green transition, where many companies have a poor knowledge of what can be done to approach climate objectives. It is important for the region that there are growing companies that are keen to invest in international markets. These bets are often expensive and the company itself does not have the necessary skills and here previous bets with cheques have proven to be successful. The project therefore seeks funding in the thematic orientations set out in the call for proposals: —Digital transition in companies -Transition to a green and low-carbon economy -Internationalisation The project expects to have slightly higher search pressure on digitalisation as there is a great need for that effort, but in that area there will probably also be a number of less support as we expect to reach out to more small businesses, about 25 support. In internationalisation about 15 aids and in green transition about 10 aids. The region’s objective in our regular work on the management of business support is to increase the number of support to women who run businesses and also to increase support for more companies that make investments in environmental efficiency. These objectives will also be used in the business development vouchers in this project. The project will help companies dare to invest in change and have reached a higher digital presence, started investments in international markets and more companies that review their operations in terms of the transition to a more environmentally friendly economy. In the long term, the project will contribute to: higher survival rates of chequed companies, more companies that have reached an international market, increased turnover and competitiveness, and more jobs.
