The overall objective of the project is that small and medium-sized companies in Örebro and Västmanland counties should export sustainably and be better equipped to meet changes in the outside world. An important part of the project is to strengthen regional cooperation within Regional Export Cooperation where the needs of companies are in focus. The action plan for RES Västmanland and Örebro County 2021-2023 is based on the national RES strategy and forms the basis for the continued effort. The focus is on strengthening the RES offering, reaching more companies and strengthening the transition to sustainable exports. The project’s efforts focus on supporting companies in terms of restarting, relaunching and developing exports as a result of the pandemic. This is by conducting first-stage needs analyses leading to individual advice and possible participation in tailor-made export programmes. The project will help more companies gain knowledge and inspiration to take the step out into new markets and the existing export network TakeOff in both counties will be developed and focus on recovery, business intelligence, sustainable exports and digitalisation. In order to strengthen export financing, the two counties will work to ensure that national export financing reaches more SME companies in Västmanland and Örebro counties.
