The COVID-19 pandemic has created major changes for the business community in Stockholm Region. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) do not have the same conditions to invest in transformation and innovation as larger companies, and the majority of Stockholm Region’s companies are small and medium-sized enterprises (Future Analysis, 2020 Region Stockholm). Therefore, through REACT-EU, the Stockholm Region wants to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) whose projects will contribute to business transformation and innovation. The project includes SEK 30 million for business development vouchers for green transition, digitalisation and internationalisation. The vouchers will respond to and facilitate viable SMEs with a need to meet new conditions to strengthen their competitiveness and transition capacity, to accompany the subsequent structural change accelerated in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project concerns the administrative management of business support to enterprises. Close cooperation will take place between Region Stockholm and ALMI Företagspartner Stockholm Sörmland AB. Together, they will ensure good control and assessment of the applications submitted by SMEs applying for business aid.
