The project applied for relates to a construction project for conversion vouchers with the aim that more small and medium-sized enterprises in Kronoberg County have strengthened their competitiveness and recovered from the pandemic period and by having invested themselves from the current crisis redesigned their operations in a sustainable direction. The sustainability aspect is central to this project through both the green transition and the economic and social aspect, as other complementary projects and activities are based on the whole sustainability definition. Through support, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through advice and conversion cheques have made an effort regarding sustainable conversion (SEK 3 million in vouchers distributed) digitalisation & innovation (SEK 5 million in awarded cheques) and internationalisation (SEK 2 million in distributed cheques). The primary target group of the project is small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with establishments in Kronoberg County; and in all industries affected by the consequences of the Corona pandemic. Applicant companies shall have reached the primary shock phase and are mainly in the reaction, stabilisation and reorientation phases. The expected overall long-term impact of the project is that 90 % of the actions will have contributed to a sustainable transition and increased competitiveness of the participating companies. The full amount of this project will go directly to SMEs through business support. The region also plans to work on complementary actions outside the budget of this project to reach SMEs and the objectives of the project.
