The meeting industry faces major challenges. Reports suggest that the future after the end of the pandemic will not return to what it was before in the industry. Companies need to be equipped to enable more business by developing business models, finding new customer groups and new applications for, for example, premises. The tourism industry and the destination as a whole need to be developed. In the past, consumers have higher demands on sustainability, accessibility and specialisation. To meet the above challenges, the project will start a so-called think tank with the mission to identify future needs and scenarios linked to the meeting industry and the hospitality industry in general. Based on these needs and scenarios, advisory measures are provided to individual companies as well as broad general support to the target group linked to, among other things, sustainable transition and digitalisation. A central part of the project is networking between companies, which is expected to lead to exchange of experience and joint business development. Expected results at the end of the project are basically that participating companies have increased their knowledge of how new customer groups are reached and how companies adjust to the new normal. Furthermore, companies are expected to have translated this knowledge to develop their business models in accordance with the advice provided, such as digitalisation and sustainable transition. In the longer term, the project is expected to contribute to sustainable community development and attractiveness with the transformation of the tourism industry as a tool.
