The focus of the project is small and medium-sized enterprises where, in the light of COVID19, a digital transition can strengthen competitiveness, resilience and sustainable development. The project aims to exploit the development potential of companies in both urban and rural areas and reach out to the entire region. Efforts will be adapted to achieve this. The project will work in three steps to reach companies with different development needs. Step 1: addresses companies where rapid development is expected to take place with easier support in the digitalisation journey. It includes the steps of business analysis, needs analysis, matching with the support of experts in the area concerned and the start of implementation. Step 2: aimed at companies that want to reach longer in their digitalisation journey. The ambition of the companies in this category is a qualified business development or transformation of operations and business models. It includes the steps of business analysis, needs analysis and coaching leading to a roadmap for digital transformation and development. Step 3: addressed to companies that have participated in Stage 2, which demonstrate an ambition to become flagship companies for digital transformation, collaborative research and innovation in the region’s business community. Together with these companies, the project will work with prototype development and implementation based on the results in step 2. As part of the dissemination of results, the companies involved in the three stages will be highlighted as concrete examples of digitalisation journeys. For Flagship companies, particular attention will be paid to the digital transformation and research and innovation (R & I) investments. The project aims to create more good role models for digitalisation in order for companies to meet the underlying challenges, such as the current COVID19 crisis. Both RISE and Bron Innovation have developed methods to support digital business development and transformation that have been successfully tested in previous and ongoing projects to guide companies in digitalisation issues. These will provide the methodological basis for this project. Collection Näringsliv provides a platform for business and IT companies in Jämtland-Härjedalen to work with digitalisation issues and the methods from which the project is based will be shared with Samling Näringsliv/Jämtland Härjedalen. National investments in digitalisation and sustainability have often focused on informing about the opportunities of digitalisation. Our experience from previous projects has shown that there is a need for further support and examples when companies are to realise their digitalisation journey.
