The application is largely based on the extensive dialogue and mobilisation work carried out during 2020-21 within the Vehicle Valley project with a broad network of companies and business actors in the region. The project is a collaborative project where the innovation system is linked together to strengthen efforts for the target group SMEs in two key industries: automotive and IT-Telecom industries. Through the collaboration partners Region Stockholm, Kista Science city and KTH, competence supply, business development and regional development are linked together. The project will be run in close cooperation with the Vehicle Valley project. The overall objective is that the green and digital transition of SMEs in the automotive industry in the region has led to increased innovation capacity and increased competitiveness. Project objectives: that more SMEs in the region’s automotive industry through developed tools, models and new collaborations have improved the conditions for a green and digital transformation The project is implemented in three work packages that can further address the identified needs of the region’s SMEs and develop new methods and forms of collaboration. 1. Vehicle Valley React Skills: Develop and test useful models for redistribution and skills exchange that provide new knowledge and can be translated into new products and services for the region’s SMEs. 2. Vehicle Valley React Demo: Facilitate tests and demonstrations for SMEs that can boost digital transformation and business development at the intersection of the automotive industry with the IT/telecom sector 3. Vehicle Valley React Arena: Establish proposals for possible structure and form of long-term collaboration between the automotive industry and the ICT sector in the region through a common arena. This should be regionally anchored and contribute to new flows and processes in the region’s innovation system. At the end of the project, skills efforts are expected to contribute to the transformation of companies and their ability to transform. Through available test and demonstration environments and developed methods, the region’s ICT companies can be a resource for the automotive industry which strengthens the companies’ global competitiveness and the region’s attractiveness for SMEs and startups. The arena enables a new closer collaboration between the IT-Tech sector and the automotive industry, which strengthens companies’ innovative capacity as well as green and digital transitions. Expected effects in the long term are a more competitive and sustainable automotive industry and improved conditions for the Stockholm region to meet the automotive industry transformation challenges.
