Overall objectives, project objectives and possibly sub-objectives The overall and long-term goal is to support the region’s SMEs in need of transition advice due to the Corona pandemic and to strengthen SME’s digital, green and international competitiveness. The project will facilitate transformation, improvement and development and offer a breeding process for a green, digital and lasting recovery. The working methods within the project are based on empirical data, knowledge and experience from expert advisors at both Almi and the Swedish Energy Agency. Through the project, the partners will provide tailored and qualified growth advice to companies that want to develop their sustainability work, create digital and business transformation, innovation and growth due to the global pandemic. The advice consists of both individual and group-based advice and is based on initial needs analyses and environmental reviews carried out by the advisors in the project. The aim is to work as result-oriented, cost-effective and smart as possible in terms of resource utilisation, cooperation and synergies with other existing projects and initiatives. Activities The project’s actions will promote the specific needs of both fast-growing SMEs and preferably specific sectors related to growth and transition issues. The advisory packages developed will therefore be adapted to emerging companies with a focus on green transition, innovation, internationalisation and digitalisation. The advice starts with a general needs analysis including environmental review in order to find the right solution for the company’s development needs. The project will implement customer offerings/deliveries where we work with concrete actions in participating companies in the form of individual advice and/or group advice. The project will also organise digital and/or physical seminars and webinars in the areas of green transition, digitalisation and internationalisation during the 2-year duration of the project. The project works according to the motto “no wrong doors”, i.e. companies should be able to turn to the project’s twinning or partners and be taken care of. Together with other actors in the region, the project complements and strengthens the existing advice available in the Stockholm region. Communication and cooperation with other business promoters is of the utmost importance. Therefore, cooperation will be stepped up and strengthened during the project period to include more initiatives and networks promoting women’s and people with foreign background entrepreneurship. The project’s expected results and benefits at the end of the project period The project’s expected results are to lead to growth in participating SMEs and that more companies increase their degree of digitalisation, green transition and come to an international market. The expected outcome of the project can be divided into two parts: — Results in companies receiving interventions, such as increased growth, increased digitalisation, green transition and increased degree of internationalisation. — Results achieved through increased interaction with other parties where the project has contributed to a more coherent, efficient and accessible business promotion system in the region. Expected long-term effects Participating companies will be more prepared and consciously engaged in activities that build competitive advantage. The participants in the project will have strengthened their competitiveness and development potential. Several of the participating companies have been involved in networks with other companies that will remain in existence for a long time after the project. These networks, combined with the project’s advice, can generate opportunities for new innovations, increased green transition, increased digitalisation and hopefully also new businesses.
