The target group of the project is the hard-hit SMEs (SMEs) in the visitor and experience sector, food services (restaurants, cafés, catering) and their suppliers (producers, processors, wholesalers) in the COVID-19 pandemic. The overall objective of the project is that these industries in Stockholm County develop new business models linked to the changing relationships between work, housing, food and leisure resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, while at the same time the digital and green transition has had an impact. The project is divided into milestones: — Innovation, product development and competitiveness. — Competence change digital development — Environmental and climate transition, increased circularity In order to achieve its overall goal, the project intends to work with needs-based advice on the themes of the three sub-objectives. In addition, in order to achieve the goal of working towards more of the region’s companies benefiting from the network that Södertälje Municipality — through its previous project MatLust — has in the food industry and in the existing regional promotion system. The project’s activities will consist of seminars, workshops, individual coaching, expert support reviews at participating companies’ facilities, innovation programs, as well as test bed and production angel interventions. By providing SME’s in the target group tools, knowledge, and contacts for business development linked to the milestones, the project aims to contribute to the participation of SMEs: Step stronger from the coronavirus crisis, have increased turnover and profitability, shifted work on environmental and wedge adaptation, and adapted their business models to the ongoing changes in society. In its communication work, the project aims to highlight companies started by people with roots in other countries, as this group sees entrepreneurship with great potential in the region, which can provide inspiration and role models for others. Expected long-term effects of the project are that participating SMEs will contribute to regional growth as a result of the innovations, new business models and increased digital literacy developed by companies during their participation in the project. Furthermore, the enhanced expertise in the environmental and climate food area acquired by participating companies through the project is expected to provide rings on the water when it comes to more competitive and sustainable regional target groups.
