Through this project, the partners want to make strong efforts to strengthen the green and digital transitions and at the same time to increase the long-term innovation and resilience of SMEs operating in Blekinge’s Smart Industry and Tech specialisation areas that have been or are at risk of being affected by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The main reasons for the Kickstart S3 Blekinge project are that the current crisis risks having very serious consequences for Blekinge’s business, entrepreneurship and innovation for a long time to come. Whereas the crisis risks increasing unemployment rates, causing a declining tax base, increasing segregation, a deterioration in gender equality and a deterioration in the quality of life of Blekinge’s citizens; The project will strengthen the resilience and resilience of SMEs in the county in the long term by developing the promotion system based on Blekinge’s smart specialisation strategy, S3. The project will work in three sub-areas. The first is to create and establish a comprehensive innovation platform for S3 work with actors from several sectors; academia, SMEs, industrial actors and the promotion system. The second sub-area aims to generally increase the ability of the promotion system to be able to work with development processes in the specialisation areas in the county and specifically increase the competence to work according to the methodology Missions as a tool to address major societal challenges. The third strand aims to bring together actors with excellence in Blekinge’s specialisation areas; researchers, businesses and public actors, in at least two collaborative platforms/partnerships. These will develop methodology for development and innovation processes to address major societal challenges for green and digital transitions. The process methodology shall be carried out and tested during the project period and shall address one of the identified thematic areas in Blekinges S3; Climate, Sea and Water.
