Innovation Skåne has been working since 2013 to develop support processes for regional and municipal activities in Skåne and Blekinge in order to better support the development and implementation of new eHealth solutions in healthcare and care. In parallel, active work has been done to involve SMEs in needs processes. However, many eHealth companies with solutions in the development phase have been severely affected by the rapid refocusing and reprioritisation of care to emergency care during the pandemic, where access to the public actor’s resources in innovation and development projects as well as other forms of cooperation has been completely restricted during the pandemic. Therefore, by stimulating and increasing public-private collaboration for increased innovation in the eHealth area, the project aims to rapidly increase the industry’s competitiveness and green and inclusive growth of SMEs with eHealth products in the health field. The project objective is to increase the employment of SMEs, through qualified needs and knowledge dissemination work where accessibility, green transition and gender equality are key tools, and that more SMEs will benefit from innovation support efforts in a better functioning ecosystem. The project will carry out knowledge-enhancing activities on market knowledge for small and medium-sized companies and clients, the creation of new health economic logic for e-health solutions (including replacement models), as well as needs and support building activities for public organisations and patients and users through the project partner Functional Rights Skåne, which also monitors the accessibility and user perspective of the project. Sustainability aspects will be mainstreamed throughout the project. The project is carried out in collaboration with Ideon Innovation, Karlskrona Municipality and Functional Rights Skåne and contributes to the implementation of the Baltic Sea Strategy through an integrated collaboration with Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
