The Northern Lights on Food project will enable food businesses to drive innovation and green transition and thus kick-start their recovery after the pandemic. In the project, the partners Lund University, Max 4, ESS, and Science Village Scandinavian will lay the foundation for a regional innovation environment, develop unique knowledge of structures in plant-based products, provide food companies with new innovation opportunities through collaboration with ESS and Max IV and strengthen the entrepreneurship support system. In the project, the partners will, among other things, establish a strong network and a development plan, implement four identified key projects and disseminate new knowledge. Regional industry, including small-sized food businesses, participates in key projects, communication and networking activities, and contributes with relevant challenges and knowledge about raw materials, processes and products. Expected long-term results are to establish the region as a world-leading centre for food research and innovation.
