The project aims to enable SMEs in the region to strengthen their competitiveness and gain knowledge of upcoming technology shifts to environmentally friendly powertrains in the automotive industry. The project builds on previous projects and will further develop the laboratory ASSAR through this effort, linked to electric drive lines with a focus on energy storage and power electronics. The green transition in the automotive sector has accelerated in the context of the pandemic and the need for production to be regionalised to become more robust to shocks has been identified. Local companies in the SME sector can be given good opportunities to seize the opportunities in this situation by sharing new knowledge and cooperating more closely in the lab environment to change operations and become more competitive. The project will be run in collaboration between IDC West Sweden, University of Skövde and Science Park Skövde.
