The project is called the Energy Transition for Gotland companies (EGF) and aims to inspire and coach Gotland industry in the energy transition and thereby create increased competitiveness among the companies concerned. The project’s objectives indicate that 70 companies will participate and more than half are expected to reduce their energy consumption by 15 %. The main part of the work will consist of outreach advice and business networks. The advice will attach particular importance to advice for digital monitoring of energy use, including through the monitoring of energy data. In order to create interest in the services, an introduction film will be created, inspirational breakfasts will be held and disseminated through the Energy Centre’s channels as well as through the industry associations Growth Gotland and Gotland’s united Visiting Industry. The industry associations will be an active part of the work with the networks and the work of developing a regional action plan for the energy transition of the Gotland economy. This is linked to the regional development strategy Our Gotland 2040, which establishes a third area of strength on Gotland, in addition to tourism and food production, called the Energy Transition of Enterprise. In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to a reduction of CO2 emissions in the region and an awareness that strengthens the continued work on sustainability.
