Region Gävleborg wants to increase accessibility for entrepreneurs in the region of Gävleborg and has, based on its broadband strategies and IT infrastructure plans, identified a number of locations where there is a need for fibre for companies and businesses. This project is part of helping and digitising these regions, which will lead to further development and a vibrant countryside. The aim of the project is to build unbundled networks and the aim is to connect companies located in the vicinity of sections to be built using these funds. The expected result is that most companies on these routes will connect to the fibre network and in the long term this will mean that rural areas will continue to live and generate jobs. This is part of the work for Gävleborg as a whole by 2025 to have access to fast broadband. That companies have access to good and stable broadband is a prerequisite for continued development and prosperous rural areas. A good digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly important for today’s business.
