The rules in the assistance are quite complicated and have many obligations. We're wondering: is this the best way to help beneficiaries? Can it be different, simpler, better? We try this in practice with the research Knowing what works. Together with the University of Utrecht and beneficiaries, we investigate the impact of a different approach in assistance. There are several research groups. Each group takes a different approach. At the end of the study, we can see which approach works best. With these results, we can possibly ask the government to adjust the rules. We see if people find work faster through a different approach or participate more in society. We also look at whether it has an effect on the health of the participants and on possible debts. And how satisfied the participants are with their own situation.
