The ambition of AMR Rijnmond in the field of active inclusion of PrO-vso pupils is clear: it is important to prevent young people from being or remain on the sidelines because all young people are needed in the regional labour market of the future. It starts with good education that responds to the demand of the labour market. The coordinating municipality of Rotterdam wants to use the ESF subsidy to structurally improve the labour management of PrO/VSO pupils. It is foreseen that the ESF grant can provide an additional boost to cooperation between schools and business and to ensure improvements in labour management in the longer term. In order to achieve this, the following approaches have been adopted: 1. Deployment from the PrO/VSO: the use of schools in the final phase of education takes place through internship guidance, work and business simulation in practice spaces and industry-oriented training. The aim of these activities is to promote a good start-up of PrO/VSO young people, thus enabling a successful entry into the labour market. 2. Business deployment: the municipality of Rotterdam wants to conclude 12 youth agreements in 2017, resulting in Top Academies in branches where work is available. Covenant (Samen)Werken Loont PrO/vso schools in the AMR Rijnmond signed the Covenant (Samen)Werken Loont on 27 June 2016, in which the ambition was expressed to promote cooperation among themselves and to improve the work management of pupils as much as possible. The Covenant stipulates that part of the ESF grant will be allocated to the Innovation Fund PrO/vso, with which employers can invest in innovative initiatives.
