EKO Establishment and Integration, competencies and organization of Kalmar Kalmar County is facing major demographic challenges, where the foreign-born is an important resource. Kalmar integration vision is to jointly create the conditions for a county with an inclusive reception, where the individual's resources are utilized and provide a diversity that contributes to the individual, the local community and the region. Through cooperation we can collectively make Kalmar County is a county where the foreign-born are given the same opportunities as native-born, and where to choose to live and stay in the county. To achieve this requires that attitudes are changing and that diversity is made visible as an important part of the region's development. The overall project objectives are: • To increase cooperation to exchange experience and expertise in the areas of health, employment and schools • To have a city-wide work on the integration of a gender perspective included Project goals and objectives: Increased skills of personnel in the public and voluntary sectors to facilitate and support the integration of new arrivals in the county. The project will have about 1,000 unique participants for 3 years. The project's activities, skills development will consist of several parts; start-up and closing conference, education, advanced training and process-led strategic work at home for the municipalities. Examples of professions in the municipalities are teachers and school administrators, social workers, librarians, student health team, teachers, labor and business administrators, youth recreation and others. The activities will also be other actors such as the Employment Service, Immigration Service, social insurance and voluntary sectors such as education associations, religious groups, sports organizations, etc. be offered participation.
